The following revised edition of the "Recordings Index" lists Sacred Harp style recordings, first by "albums" with the tunes they contain, and then by tune name with the albums in which they can be found.
Tunes are indexed alphabetically, but albums are indexed first by "category" and then by date.
Album categories are:
A Recordings made at singings
B Recordings by singers who regularly attend singings
C Recordings by other singers using arrangements from the Sacred Harp or a similar tune-book
D Recordings not using such arrangements
This index also lists recordings of West Gallery music. West Gallery recordings proper are classified as:
Category W
So-called "village carols" are also listed because much of their repertoire consists of West Gallery material.
The Village Carol category is:
Category V
An asterisk (*) denotes that the indexed tune is not one having the same name in either "The Sacred Harp-1991" OR "The B.F. White Sacred Harp Revised Cooper Edition 1992". ("The Sacred Harp-1991" names are used for tunes with a different name in the Cooper book.)
An unwelcome symbol is OOP, denoting that the recording has gone out of print since the index was first compiled. The format of the recordings is always as a cassette unless indicated otherwise, with cd and lp denoting compact disc and long-playing record respectively.

B1928 ALABAMA SACRED HARP SINGERS:
The two indexed selections are the only SH selections in the two cassettes comprising Folkways 2952 "Anthology of American Folkmusic, vol. 2 'Social Music'". The CD version is part of the Smithsonian Folkways six CD set SWF 40090.
B1984? "Heritage":
The two indexed selections are two part versions of two hymns in Ingalls' "Christian Harmony", sung by Jane Peppler and Bob Vasile. Ms. Peppler was part of the women's quartette that entertained at the first National Convention in Birmingham in 1980.
B1995 Brightest and Best:
This album, in its CD form, may be the first disc since the 1922 Brunswick 78 rpms to have four-shape shape-notes printed right on the label! This Canadian Christmas album contains several other SH style tunes that are done instrumentally, as well as some non-SH style tunes that are sung.
C1990 A Vermont Sampler:
This cassette also contains "Swanton" and the inevitable "Northfield" plus many secular folk songs. The CD contains everything on the cassette except "Northfield" and "Swanton" plus more secular folksongs.

Another setting of the same words as "Harmony" on the "Emerald Stream" CD, to a fuging tune almost as nice. I cannot verify that the tune is by Wood. (It is not in Kroeger's "American Fuging Tunes 1770-1820".) The CD also contains Ingalls' "Wedding Hymn".
D1991 Lorraine Duisit:
Eighteen hymns are simply and beautifully sung, as solos or duets, with a diversity of sparse but appropriate instrumental accompaniment. Besides the indexed selections, five other SH tunes from Categories A & B are used for the hymns on this cassette.

The two indexed selections are songs from "The American Musical Miscellany" that later appeared in shape-note books.
